Our Story Begins Here

❊ About Us

Building Success.
One Step at a Time.

Steady Steps Housing began in 2025 with a simple belief that every young person deserves a safe place to grow, heal, and build their future. We were created to meet the urgent housing needs of youth aging out of foster care.

Located in Volusia County, our transitional living program offers more than a roof because it offers hope, structure, and support. Rooted in compassion and community, we bridge the gap between care and independence by providing stability, life-skills training, and consistent guidance.

We walk alongside each resident as they face challenges, discover their strengths, and prepare for what comes next. Every moment is about progress, growth, and confidence. Together, we help young adults take steady steps toward independence and create a life they can truly stand on.

Message from Our Founder

First and foremost, I give thanks to God for His love, guidance, and countless blessings. Through His grace, I am able to serve and support our young people.

I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported, continues to support, or will support our mission. Your commitment is truly valued.

As a former foster youth who has overcome many obstacles, I understand the challenges young people face. Those experiences gave me passion, resilience, and the belief that no matter how hard it gets, things can and will improve if you keep pushing forward.

This is exactly what we strive to provide for our youth: hope, support, and the tools they need to thrive.

Together, one step at a time, we can make a lasting difference.

With gratitude,

LaMonica Cummings
